Reminiscing the Lonely Past

I remember kneeling for HIM at the altar, praying, to reach one goal. Give me this one chance, to overcome self  worth, not only for myself but for my family. Until the day came, He answered my prayers and off I went. My heart ached as if a force is trying to pull it off my chest, as I watched my children slept soundlessly, and my husband's eyes teary like the cloudy black sky.

I met two friends on the journey who will be my new family in this desert mountainous land of Abha, a thousand miles away from home. I struggled painstakingly to understand new beliefs, cultures, and people of so opposite ways. I learned to speak and read their language. I gained to upgrade my skills and become a much stronger person. It's like being in the jungle.  "A survival of the fittest."  I miss my old self -- the sympathetic listener I used to be, the one with a soft heart.

This new year, I am a step ahead of the ladder in my career, than last year. My countdown begins. I will be free in 2011. I want to go home and hug the love of my life and our children. That would be one of the happiest time of my life.

I trust in you Lord, so that I will have peace of mind.

We are not alone. God is with us, especially if we call His name.

Do your best so others may follow.

It's not the looks that matters most but what you are inside.

Teach your children to be best friends at young age so that when they grow up they will not be strangers to each other.

It does not matter if others don't accept you, what matters most is you accept yourself for what you are.

Be grateful for waking up in the morning and facing another day of your life.

With temptation, God will provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. (1 Corinthians 10:13)

A true friend accepts you for what you are.

Appreciate the little and simple things and be happier.

Happiness is not measured by the country where you live in or by how much you earn. Happiness is appreciating the little things in life.

What is a Nurse?

Most nurses pray before they go on duty, because they don't know what to expect. Even though they have years of experience in the ICU, Emergency Room, Operating Room etc., there's always that feeling of anxiety, the fear of the unknown. It's the kind of profession that wouldn't accept any room for error. It's a profession wherein perfection is expected or else you'll expect the worst. It's a profession wherein you should have that adrenaline rush of initiative in order to save lives even without any doctors around. It's the kind of profession wherein you should stand for your right even if others think you are wrong. That is a nurse, and that is me.
